To actively support the high-quality development of China's intelligent networked cars and Telematics, the Ministry of MIIT has recently planned to dedicate 100 million 11-digit public mobile communication network numbers to Telematics business.

Currently, China's intelligent networked automobile industry has ushered in a new round of high-quality development. 2023 China's automobile production and sales hit a new record high, both exceeding 30 million units, an increase of 11.6% and 12% year-on-year, respectively. Similar to ordinary mobile phone users using mobile phone SIM card networking, intelligent networked cars relying on the configuration of the car networking special number of the Internet of Things card connected to the 4G/5G network, can support the vehicle and the back office of the car enterprise for data communication, daily Internet entertainment for the car occupants, as well as emergencies, the car occupants of the rescue, roadside assistance voice communication and other functions, to protect the user's safety at the same time, to bring the rich experience of using the car.

In the next step, MIIT will allocate dedicated numbers for Telematics to relevant basic telecommunication enterprises in accordance with the procedures, continuously improve the level of code number resource management, continuously track the development trend of the industry, and replenish the code number resources in due course, so as to give full play to the enabling role of information and communication industry, and to support the high-quality development of intelligent networked vehicles and Telematics business.
