Recently, based on the foundation of previous research, China Industrial Internet Research Institute has constructed a regional industrial Internet industry development index system, assessed the development level of industrial Internet in various administrative regions and municipalities directly under the central government across the country, and compiled the "Report on the Industrial Internet Development Index of Major Cities in China" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report").

The Report shows that, from the point of view of industrial development characteristics, the Internet industry of the 100 national major cities with industrial Internet has a high level of development. From the relevant list of 2023 published by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other departments, the national industrial Internet major cities have 94% of the country's dual-span platforms, 92.3% of the big data industry development demonstration projects, 93.1% of the typical cases of data security in the field of industry and information technology, 78.3% of the intelligent manufacturing demonstration factories, and 76.3% of the 5G factories.

The Report puts forward five development proposals.

First, continue to promote the construction of industrial Internet platforms. Based on the local industrial foundation and key industrial chains, continue to build industrial Internet platforms with local characteristics and industrial advantages, strengthen inter-regional platform exchanges and cooperation, and accelerate the integration and application of platforms to better empower local industrial development.

Second, promote the development of big data and artificial intelligence industry. Cities can promote data valorization as the main line, rely on authoritative platforms such as the National Industrial Internet Big Data Center, focus on local key industries to build a high-quality AI industrial data corpus, and accelerate the development of general artificial intelligence.

Third, promote the accelerated integration of 5G technology with various industries. Cities can focus on "5G+Industrial Internet" to build typical application scenarios in combination with the local industrial foundation, continue to promote the construction of 5G factories, and accelerate the development of digital and intelligent transformation of enterprises.

Fourth, strengthening the construction of industrial Internet security capacity. By promoting the demonstration and promotion of industrial Internet security-related products, applications and services, the level of local industrial Internet security capacity will be continuously improved.

Fifth, comprehensively promote intelligent manufacturing. Cities can vigorously develop intelligent products and accelerate the intelligent upgrading of key industries based on the needs of local industrial transformation.
